Mardi Gras brings Helleborus Lenten Rose into bloom and Amaryllis Susan Rosy Pink throws two stalks and eight blossoms after a Winter nap. Purple and white Spring Crocus bounce onto the scene to join Dahlia Barbarrosa and Autumn Joy Sedum. Wyoming Canna, Lime Splash Coleus, and Lantana Variegated shine while Pansy blossoms and Croton leaves make a stunning portrait. Golden Spring Daffodils bring a song of "April Showers" as Patio Peach flowers as brightly as rose-pink Azaleas. A July Cucumber bloom brings forth a verse from the Bible and the Prophet Isaiah. Red Quince shrub shares a memory of "The Owl and the Pussy Cat" and a bit of the "Runcible Spoon" children's nonsense story. Asian Lady Fern is shown in her own "Log Cabin" in cold weather and again in warmer weather when Lady Fern is throwing fronds of metallic red.
